Designed as a direct replacement for the factory fan in the optical drive Blu Ray housing, it helps expel warm air from the rear of the mainframe. Made from lightweight ABS plastic, it duplicates the original white colour and physical dimensions for a seamless mechanical fit. If your current rear fan has become noisy or has stopped spinning, this unit offers a simple swap that restores proper airflow without modding or adaptors.

Features and Construction

This section covers the materials, sizing, and physical characteristics that enable the fan to perform its cooling role reliably within the PS5 chassis.

Material and Build

The fan body is moulded from ABS, a widely used engineering plastic that resists everyday wear and thermal cycling inside the console. It does not rust or corrode, and its low mass of 105 grammes reduces strain on mounting clips. The white finish matches the PS5’s standard colour scheme, so the replacement remains visually consistent with nearby components.

Size and Practical Fit

At 6.5 by 4 by 23.2 centimetres, the fan is sized to slot directly into the rear optical drive housing of the PS5 mainframe. These dimensions mirror the original part’s footprint, meaning you do not need to modify the console shell or any cable routing. The compact profile also leaves adequate space for other internal cables and the power supply unit.

Uses and Placement

While designed primarily for the PS5, this fan’s placement in the rear exhaust path makes it relevant for any scenario that involves active console cooling.

Event or Professional Use

In gaming cafes, tournament setups, or TV production environments where multiple PS5 consoles run for hours, a reliable rear fan prevents cumulative heat soak. The direct-fit design lets technicians restore a console to full cooling capacity quickly, minimising downtime between sessions.

Everyday Home Use

Home gamers benefit from the simple replacement process when a rear fan fails. Since the fan takes less than ten minutes to swap, you can resume play without sending the whole console for repair. Its white finish also keeps the back of the unit looking tidy if the console is placed in an open entertainment unit.

Benefits and Buying Value

This subhead focuses on the practical advantages of choosing this ABS-replacement fan over generic alternatives or complete console repairs.

Reuse and Low Maintenance

Because the fan uses the same mounting points and electrical connector as the original, there is no need for soldering, adaptors, or extra wiring. If the replacement later becomes worn, you can swap it again without discarding any other part of the console. The ABS shell can also be cleaned with a soft brush to remove dust accumulation.

Why Choose This Product

Choosing a size-matched fan avoids the airflow inefficiency that can occur with universal-fit fans. The 6.5 x 4 x 23.2 cm profile guarantees it sits flush in the housing, directing exhaust air out through the rear vents. Combined with the low weight and straightforward colour match, this makes the replacement a practical choice for restoring PS5 cooling performance.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1105/3665/5239/files/5263059d-f453-4dd5-8ec4-44625f390f05.webp?v=1793220757
https://crestivra.co.uk/products/ps5-host-rear-cooling-fan-abs-optical-drive-blu-ray-replacement-for-playstation-5-mainframe-console-cooling-white-6-5-x-4-x-23-2-cm
